How it works
Open the guest window
Open the guest's document window in the PMS; the panel turns green when it's ready to read.
Scan the document
Pass the ID card or passport through the desk scanner. It reads wherever the cursor is.
Check
Fields fill and a short beep confirms. If anything is missing, the panel lists it in red.
What it does
When a guest's ID card or passport is scanned, the MRZ lines are decoded and document type, number, nationality, birth and expiry dates and gender are filled in automatically.
For Turkish citizens the national ID number is also copied to the fields required for invoicing, so missing data never reaches the invoice.
Recent scans are kept briefly in browser memory so fields can be refilled without asking the guest for their ID again. Everything is cleared when the computer shuts down.
